    Yup, watching a guy or a gal walking through the woods is so similar to watching chefs chop up onions and veg from gazillion different angles on cookery tutorials!! I totally concur with your views…. Some folks as I call them; are or want to become arm chair experts; otherwise entertained as you put it. We (myself included) do need to pick up our gear, get up of our backside and go practice! It’s that red pill, blue pill dilemma! 😂

    Phenomenal tutorial. My only thought is you gave way too much time to telling those people what this is not about rather than acknowledging it and moving on.

    Very giod video. I noticed you had catchlights even though you were wearing glasses.Your glasses didn’t reflect light. Do you have a video on how to do that?

    Hello Mr. Edelman, ( I'm old school so I'll skip the "Joe" thing); how many views would satisfy your ego so as to restart your live podcast? I know it's disrespectful enough to make you think... but hopefully your knowledge will last well after we are done on this side . There are less and less people who actually know photography and two, five or 10 years from now your knowledge will still be valuable to those in love with photography just starting the journey. Books are great but I'm afraid will not match the views and interest on YT. I think you didn't do this for the moneys so get the F back . Thank you..

    Thanks for the information, I just found your channel after you were a guest on a podcast that I listen to and am loving it so far. Question, what metering mode were you using for these shots? Would using spot metering have helped the auto-ISO out when you were shooting with the tarp behind home plate?

    • @theJoeEdelman
      @theJoeEdelman 3 місяці тому

      It really doesn't matter @tgxwoodchuck9541. I have my cameras defaulted to Center Weighted averaging all the time - but keep in mind I am shooting mirrorless - so regardless of what the camera gives me for exposure I am always monitoring the image in the EVF and using exposure compensation to adjust on the fly. Check out this series of four articles about exposure with mirrorless cameras for more detail. www.joeedelman.com/what-the-exposure-triangle-and-brooklyn-bridge-have-in-common

    Yeah i got some gear. Might have to loose some of it. I have 6 lenses in my kit. 😂 but will say im using them all figuring which ones i want to keep in my dslr kit and put in my other 35mm film kit with the k1000. I have a flash and working on building my battery pack. Got a few lights i picked up for my ebay store. The lights i scored for 50. Great points.

    I think it would be really fun to see you do some more interviews of some other successful photographers. I’ve enjoyed it when you’ve done that in the past. It’s interesting hearing how other people got their careers, moving along. Or when that moment shifted from being an amateur to a professional, and what they went through to get there. I always appreciate what you were attempting to do with us photographers. You are always extremely professional and straightforward with what you talk about. You do your best to not make things confusing but understandable. Thank you for your extremely gigantic effort that you put into doing these, UA-cam shows for us. Thank you for your inspiration, your enthusiasm and your support. I hope that you are going to be able to do this for many years to come. Thank you for everything you do.

    Hey Joe - from a personal standpoint I am sorry to hear that Last Frame will be changing formats. I do hear your issues, particularly time needed for everything else. I know you have automated a lot of what goes into producing a single stream, but I also acknowledge that it is still a big chunk of time to make it happen. I applaud you for the energy you put into each stream. I certainly could not do it. From the perspective of the lack of questions - I have looked at Last Frame as almost a camera club on steroids. It has been very beneficial to me because the nearest club is almost 100 miles away. Sure, sometimes I have questions, but always it is an opportunity to hear what like minded people have to say. And even better to have someone I really respect making presentations. re: this stream - while I don't do weddings, I could not agree more with your comments "expected meals". The show never stops unless you put down your camera. The complaints you are referring to sounds a lot like Gen Z's - "I just graduated from college and the salaries offered to me are only $60k - I should seeing 6 figures at a minimum." So many thanks for what you have offered us, and I look forward to your upcoming efforts. Rock on.....

    Joe its been awhile ......been truthfully away from photography .........family health issues and work economic problems have me NOT getting out to shoot a lot as of late ........I have decided with social media to reduce my ADMIN duties to the groups I still do that with .....and get out and shoot more wildlife and street photography .......also not to post on social media but more so enjoy the creativity end of it ..... I totally understand where you are coming from ........I appreciate any efforts you make to do any UA-cam .....and yes we need to respect your time ....we all just need to get out and shoot and try new things ....techniques are done hands on from me and many others can benefit from trying failing and trying again until you get your process down to muscle memory.....Thanks again JOE ...be well

    Regarding food... YOUR WAY is exactly how I was trained by my Mentor, Walter Coleman Thurston back in 1973, when he was a 69 year-old Master Craftsman 30 years before I met him. I was 18 years-old and was fortunate enough to be taken in by him at a time he was dying of throat cancer. He spent $64,000 on my photographic education and his rule was to BE INVISIBLE! He said, "YOU ARE NOT A GUEST, YOU ARE A CONRACTOR THERE TO DO A JOB! EAT BEFORE YOU GO, WHILE YOU ARE THERE, YOU ARE THERE TO WORK." Walter was a $Multi-Millionaire Photographer in 1973, long before the Internet and the man HAD A CLUE. HE HAD 2 CLUES and was willing to share.

    I watched the replay and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great info. I got to see you in-person last year in August at a Virginia PPA event. You gave a phenomenal presentation on "Portrait Photography - Create the Difference." I belong to two active local photo clubs, as well as VPPA, and PPA. I am also PPA certified, but I am not a professional photographer. I have no desire to have and operate a business. Thus, getting my CPP was just a personal goal; not aimed at improving my chances of getting clients. My photography work has always been pro bono. Again, fully enjoyed this video and appreciate your work on the Camera Club Directory.
